Through the marrying of their individual creative practices, visual artists Angela Stringer and Nicky Perrin create site specific mixed media artworks which are grounded in place, thanks to their collective use of natural earth pigments and botanical dyes.

Engaging with their local Wirral environment and beyond, gathering raw materials such as rocks, soil, clay and botanical matter, they hand process these into fine pigments, natural dyes and paint, and layer them over rust prints made with discarded objects.

Weaving in the stories of a place, acknowledging its history and significance, the work serves as a vehicle to consider heritage, sustainability and wellbeing whilst establishing both a physical and metaphorical connection to the natural world. Their work is a conversation with the land, the past, the seasons and each other.
